About Nine Signal
Nine Signal is one place to follow minor-league baseball prospects: research and player dossiers from Prospect Digest before first pitch, plus a live board and configurable push alerts once the games start.
It watches every minor-league level, down to the complex leagues, and tells you when a prospect’s numbers actually change. It’s built for people who collect Bowman prospects, and dynasty players use it too. You get the numbers and what changed. What you do with them is up to you.
Prospect Digest, the research desk
Prospect Digest is the research desk inside Nine Signal. It writes Morning Signal, the morning board and the research on each player’s page.
How the numbers are made
Nine Signal measures what has happened on the field, from public data, by stated rules. It is not a scouting service and it does not promise outcomes.
- Who gets researched. The research desk covers several hundred players in depth, chosen on age-for-level, performance at that level, and recent signals, and every player shows the reason he qualified.
- Where the numbers come from. Official MLB Stats API data, plus pitch and batted-ball tracking Nine Signal computes itself, including complex-league levels most coverage never reaches.
- What a missing number looks like. A metric the leagues didn’t track is published as missing, never as a fake zero. The Prospect Index ranks on this season’s actual performance, real plate appearances at real levels, with no scout grades and no invented scores.
- When it updates. In season, every morning: the morning board of who is running hot and cold, what changed overnight for the players you follow, and the player pages and the Prospect Index rebuilt from the previous day’s games.
What stays free
Some things stay free for good: the research studies, What we flagged first and the Sunday email. Everything else in Nine Signal is free during the beta.
